The World Premiere Benefit Screening of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones  The San Francisco sold out world premiere of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones benefit event was a smashing success, and the only problem was it went too fast. At the screening, guests were given the "red carpet" treatment along with celebrity guests and dignitaries. George Lucas, Carrie Fisher, former 49ers quarterback Steve Young, and Tracey Ullman were among some of the celebrities there, and California Attorney General Bill Lockyer and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown were guests as well. The pre-events featured costumed Star Wars characters from the 501st Stormtrooper Legion, and guests got an opportunity to mingle and dance at the street party with Alice radio and grab an In-N-Out burger before the screening. The post party featured incredible decor and special effects, interactive Episode II Xbox video games on thirty 40 inch flat screens, great music, delicious food and drink, and photo opportunities with Chewbacca and friends. Guests danced the night away with R2D2 and C3PO, and each guest left with goody bags of Star Wars collectibles. There were 1,000 guests at the premiere benefit, and 140 seats were underwritten for underprivileged children in CMF's mentoring programs. The California Mentor Foundation raised $250,000 for statewide mentoring programs and at-risk youth in California, and CMF is very grateful to Lucasfilm Ltd., Twentieth Century Fox, all of our guests, and our incredible sponsors listed below.
